StandDown Alerts LLC Privacy Policy
Last updated and effective: November 2, 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how StandDown Alerts LLC ("StandDown," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the StandDown service and website at standdownalerts.com (the "Service"). StandDown is a business tool sold to organizations; the people who use it are account holders and the alert recipients they add.
2. Information we collect
- Account and company information — the name, email, and password of the person who creates an account, and the company name.
- Site and job configuration — the facilities, locations (coordinates), criteria, and job details you enter.
- Recipient contact information — the names, mobile numbers, and email addresses you add for the people who should receive alerts. You are responsible for having the right to provide this information.
- Device and notification data — if a user turns on phone alerts, the browser push subscription and device information needed to deliver notifications.
- Usage and log data — records of events the Service generates (lightning events, weather calls, notifications, back-to-work confirmations, and reports), and technical logs needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Timesheets you upload — the daily timesheet files you attach to a delay, which may include workers' names, crafts and hours, and the totals you enter with them. They are stored privately and can be opened only by signed-in users of your own company.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Website visit counts — we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are read, the site that referred a visit, and the visitor's country and type of device. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
- Personal links in our emails — when we email someone about StandDown, the link may carry a short code (for example standdownalerts.com/?r=K7M2QX) so we know that the link was opened, which pages were viewed, and whether an account was later created through it. The code is random and holds no personal information; the browser keeps it so a later sign-up is connected to it. We do not use tracking cookies, email open pixels, or device fingerprinting, and we do not identify visitors who arrive without a code.
3. How we use information
We use information to: provide and operate the Service; send weather notifications and jobsite calls; generate, store, and deliver your Records and reports; process subscriptions and payments; provide support; secure and improve the Service; and comply with law. We do not sell personal information.
4. How alerts are delivered
Alerts are sent by email through our email provider; for users who opt in, as push notifications through the push services operated by the user’s browser or device maker (for example, Apple, Google, or Mozilla); and, for users who opt in to text alerts, as SMS text messages through our messaging provider and the mobile carriers. Delivery depends on those providers, carriers, networks, and devices outside our control.
A mobile number you provide for text alerts is used only to deliver StandDown weather notifications and jobsite calls and related program replies. We do not sell mobile numbers, and we do not share them with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Recipients can opt out of text alerts at any time by replying STOP, or by turning text alerts off in the Service.
5. Service providers
We use trusted third parties to run the Service, each handling only the data needed for its role: Supabase (database, authentication, hosting), Vercel (application hosting), Xweather / Vaisala (lightning data), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payment processing), and the browser/device push services named above. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
6. How we share information
We share information only: with the service providers above; within your own company account, as the account is designed to work; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; and in connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or sale of assets). We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
7. Data retention
We keep your account and Records for as long as your subscription is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may export your Records while your subscription is active.
8. Security
We protect information with access controls, encryption in transit, row-level data isolation between companies, and limited access to credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
Account holders can view and update their information in the Service, remove recipients, and turn phone alerts off on any device. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information; to exercise them, contact us at the address below.
10. Where data is handled
The Service and its providers operate in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that information is processed in the United States.
11. Children
The Service is a workplace tool intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time and will post the updated version with a new date. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
